Our Regular Folks
Hugh McKean
Hugh McKean is the Colorado House Minority Leader from Loveland, Colorado. A Republican, McKean represents Colorado House of Representatives District 51, which encompasses Loveland and the surrounding area. He was first elected in 2016. Before his election as a state representative, McKean served as a City Councilor in Loveland.
Hugh died unexpectedly on October 30, 2022. Just a few days later, he was re-elected, overwhelmingly and posthumously, to another term in HD51. We can’t bring ourselves to take his picture down. He lives on here and in our hearts, and this website goes on in memory of our dearly missed friend.
Scott K. James
A fourth-generation Colorado native, Scott James represents Weld County as the Weld County Commissioner from District 2. A Republican, James was first elected to the Board of County Commissioners in 2018 and re-elected in 2022. Before his election as Commissioner, James served Johnstown, Colorado, as a planning commissioner, Town Council member, and mayor.
